At the top right of the results list is a gear icon, select it and under Search Mode is Filter Catalog selected? If so, change it to Filter Results (it’s sticky and will be remembered for other searches even after restart). As the gear menu indicates, the shortcut to change this setting is ⌘ → and ⌘← (which might only work when the results list is shown) which I find are kind of easy to mistakenly hit. Maybe the shortcut should be removed? I find very few people even know of this menu let alone need to change the settings often enough to have a shortcut.
