Is is possible to enter text mode using any key other than the period

For instance, I would like to replace the period (.) by the
semi-colon (;)
as the latter is closer to my fingers.
There’s a built-in trigger for “Command Window in Text Mode”, but
it’s disabled by default. You could assign a keystroke to that, and
optionally make it active only in Quicksilver if you want. I’m pretty
sure it has to have a modifier, though. Besides, `;` is “taken”. (If
you have multiple things selected using the comma trick, `;` will
combine them into a single item.)
