Around the web are bits of advice that say to enable the Social Bookmarks
plugin (done) then visit the
Catalog and use the dropdown menu with Custom enabled to add an entry for Social Bookmarks that gives access to a panel to set a login and password for Pinboard.in. However, on my system there is no entry in that menu to
add such an entity (see attached image).

What gives ?

Good question. There are changes coming in the next version that I could see breaking this, but it clearly doesn’t work as is.

Is there some dependency on another plugin (I tried enabling the obvious
ones just in case but no joy there) ?

No.

Do I have to add some other kind of entity somewhere else to make this
appear ?

I don’t think so.

Or is the plugin just not working with this version of Quicksilver.

Quicksilver is underneath my fingers for much of the day - it would be
soooo nice to be able to search for Pinboard bookmarks with it. I don't
need bookmark entry, just searching by bookmark tags.

I messed with the plug-in a little and got the thing to appear in the menu, but the entry it adds doesn’t let you type in the username field, so there’s more to it. I was able to get it to accept input, but it wouldn’t save the values between restarts, and there’s no telling if it would actually submit the data and log in. I don’t have an account and have never tried that plug-in.

I pushed my updates. Hopefully someone who knows their way around NIBs can take it the rest of the way.
