It’s grayed out because it’s built into the app and can’t be
disabled. That’s normal.
As for the actual problem, I don’t know. I assume keystrokes are
registered in the main QS interface? Do you have any other keyboard
related utilities running? Have you tried a different keyboard to rule
out a physical problem?
