There’s a bug in 1.6.0 that prevents it from launching on macOS 10.10 and 10.11. The auto-update system should know that and not offer 1.6.0 to you, though. I’ll have to make sure that’s working.
when i try to move the applications (1.6 and 1.5.9) to the trash to uninstall it says it cannot be moved to the trash because it is open. its not in my dock, or my menu bar, and i cannot figure out how to access it.
You should be able to run 1.5.9, but to get rid of whatever you have and start clean, try opening Activity Monitor (from `/Applications/Utilities`) and see if you can find and quit Quicksilver from there. (There’s a button in the toolbar to quit or kill the selected app.)
