May favorite feature of Launcher is to call it up and type in a shortcut and be able to go to a particular folder or open a file. For instance, to get to my Finance folder, I can call up Launcher and type fif and it will take me in my Finder to the Finance folder. It is an extraordinarily handy time saver and I will find it hard to get along without it.

Can Quicksilver do this?

Absolutely. Files, folders, applications, bookmarked URLs, etc. And you can do a lot more than just “open” or “launch” things with similarly handy shortcuts.

Note that your specific example might not work because the letters “fif” don’t appear in “Finance”, but if you don’t want to fight your muscle memory, Quicksilver would allow you to create a synonym for “Finance” called “Finance Folder”, which you could locate with “fif”.
