TD AMERITRADE's Database Architect & Engineering team is seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to join their team. This position can be filled in Columbia, MD OBJECTIVE: Conceive and design of the Enterprise Information Model/Framework across TD Ameritrade. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Define DBMS standardization and selection criteria. • Develop logical and physical data models by working with the business and technical staff • Lead teams by example by providing Database subject matter expertise and actively participating in physical database design and architecture. • Champion and collaborate on the creation of Data Development Processes, Procedures, and Standards to ensure data consistency across the Enterprise. • Define standard techniques to assist other professionals in architecting and building solutions. • Understand existing data related product sets within the enterprise and research technology opportunities and industry trends in order to advise internal clients on the applicability and utilization of technology. • Identify re-engineering opportunities through research and analysis of business and system process inefficiencies to ensure the company maintains a competitive advantage with information technology. • Participate in developing corporate technology strategy in conjunction with other Enterprise Architecture disciplines. • Layout and design the high level Enterprise Information Management strategy, architecture, and roadmap. • Evaluate partner opportunities and structure business development relationships to achieve joint goals. • Evangelize our strategic vision around Enterprise Information Model/Framework REQUIRED SKILLS: • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Proven ability to build and present technical and non-technical presentations for executive management with an ability to influence others using objective and subjective information. • Demonstrated knowledge in logical and physical data modeling to support OLTP and Data warehousing projects • Ability to communicate complex concepts to others effectively. • Financial Services industry experience desired. • Data Management Subject Matter Expert/technical 'heavyweight' and proven ability to effectively design large scale relational databases. • Thought Leader, Deep Thinker. • Expertise in a broad spectrum of skills including the following: business domain knowledge, data/information modeling, O/R mapping and persistence strategies, DBMS technologies, Operating Systems, Open Source DBMS software, Data Replication techniques, Backup and Recovery, vertical and horizontal DBMS scaling techniques, SOA, Data Warehousing, ETL, and Query/Reporting tools. • Demonstrated ability to lead data standardization and administration using automated tools. • Ability to use data integration techniques across multiple development projects.
