Summary: Provide client-only SAMBA installation page
Product: Beyond LinuxFromScratch
Version: SVN
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: BOOK
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
QAContact: [email protected]
Currently the book has client-only installation pages for OpenSSH and rsync:
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/view/svn/basicnet/openssh.html
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/view/svn/basicnet/rsync.html
Why not make a similar page for SAMBA?
Also a section "do I want to run SAMBA daemons?" won't hurt. E.g., some
people on #lfs-support wrongly think that they need to run smbd if they want
to print to shared printers connected to Windows machines.
