If there is no interest in the server, would just the IMAP side (the only thing I have interest in and do use) be something people would like to see? My only concern is that I generally do my own thing with packages, so finding the time to develop 2 sets of instructions is not very easy. Case in point is postfix. I have been keeping up to date with it lately as I am prepping a new mail server, but it's not the same as the current book procedure. Another problem is that I generally don't update my own server or desktop software very often unless there is a vulnerability or some other bug fix that impacts me, so that would affect how often I could commit myself to keeping a package up to snuff for the "latest and greatest" crowd. I used to build everything new all the time, but those days are long gone in favor of practical time management. Similar to this are things like spam assassin, which can be a pain unless you aren't overly particular. It would be nice to see that in the book. I have researched and installed ~37 perl modules in the last couple of weeks (about 5 of them I was able to use Randy's research for - thanks, Randy!) all for the support of SA, amavisd-new, and other perl atrocities and while my installation of such isn't overly specialized, my configuration of it is and I do not have the time to research and test general configuration aspects when what I need has to suit a particular, non-general configuration. So I keep my info to myself lest another package gets included into the already large list of packages and I end up not being able to keep up with it (which will most likely be the case). I really miss the days when I worked 4-5 hours a day 5 days a week... :( -- Archaic Want control, education, and security from your operating system?
