It's just my opinion only, but I don't feel this is the right fix. Pretending the problem doesn't exist just can't be the right thing to do. Seemed to me, the patch that was contributed was enough. And even if that one doesn't work, how hard could it be to fix this issue? It seemed trivial. Additionally there is plenty of precedent in the book to include a message on the GAIM page to simply just say "There are known issues with linking GAIM into the NAS build.
