I did the warning suppression. configure's default CFLAGS in the package
in the book is CFLAGS="-g -O2" I was just doing a touchup for sloppy
programming that was bugging me. I thought there was some educational
content there too.
I have done this for at least one other package. See the sed in OpenSSL.
Its not a requirement for an editor to do this type of thing, but I think
its a nice touch when the fix is relatively obvious and easy.
