Solved the problem with Cg. Actually I made OpenEXR work with Cg-1.5_x86.tar.gz; libGLU is needed to make it work (I don't know why but I needed to pass LDFLAGS="$LDFLAGS -L/usr/X11R7/lib" before configuring openexr to make it work properly). Installing FLTK and Cg made exrdisplay being built with fragment shader support.
