#2552: set MTU size in network scripts -------------------------+-------------------------------------------------- Reporter: thomas | Owner: [email protected] Type: task | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: future Component: Bootscripts | Version: SVN Severity: normal | Keywords: network mtu -------------------------+-------------------------------------------------- I would like to bring up an issue I had to resolve locally. Most websites were working, some not while we did know that the sites were up and running (accessable from other machines). After a while of investigations, I reduced the MTU size of my LAN machine(s) from 1500 to 1400 and than it perfectly works. A very good description of that issue is on www.netheaven.com/pmtu.html.
So, my request is to enhance the network start scripts to (optionally) set the MTU size. I think, 'ifup' or the service-scripts are the place where this could be done. -- Ticket URL: <http://wiki.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/ticket/2552> BLFS Trac <http://wiki.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs> Beyond Linux From Scratch -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-book FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
