That's why I didn't bother making a patch for it. I wasn't quite sure if we were going to switch over to TeX Live, but since I use TeTex I've already run in to the problem and fixed it. I only tend to switch applications if there's something desperately wrong with it, and so far it hasn't let me down when writing a book with LaTeX.
