I've tried out the patch and it doesn't work for me. I get the following:

/sources/avahi-0.6.25/missing: line 54: automake-1.10: command not found

you modified `Makefile.am', `acinclude.m4' or `configure.ac'.
You might want to install the `Automake' and `Perl' packages.
Grab them from any GNU archive site.
cd ../.. && /bin/sh ./config.status initscript/lfs/Makefile
config.status: creating initscript/lfs/Makefile
make[3]: Leaving directory `/sources/avahi-0.6.25/initscript/lfs'
make[3]: Entering directory `/sources/avahi-0.6.25/initscript/lfs'
chmod +x avahi
chmod: cannot access `avahi': No such file or directory
make[3]: *** [avahi] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/sources/avahi-0.6.25/initscript/lfs'
make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

I have automake 1.11 installed.
