 If GNOME is the only thing that uses a package, I agree with you. However,
 for GLib, GTK+ and other things that are used by a wide variety of
 packages, I think we should identify new point releases. A single point
 release is always compatible (perhaps an exception every once in a while,
 but rare), and provides security updates among other things. Let's discuss
 on -dev.
