Thanks for the patch Fernando. It applied perfectly.
This took me almost all day because I had problems with the xulrunner
dependency. If I would have used what's in the book, it wouldn't have
been such a problem. First, I was trying to use system-cairo because an
earlier version had done that. (It's not supported in this version of
xulrunner). Second, I didn't notice that xulrunner takes 4.5G to build so
I ran out of space. Third, the build takes almost 40 SBU (that's about 70
minutes in my system). Ouch.
In any case, once that was done and Fernando's patch applied, the rest was
easy. One change is the link target at the end changes to
$JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/IcedTeaPlugin.so
Fixed in revision 11558.
