Summary of fix: use the sed from gentoo, then remove
libQt5WebengienCore.so (thanks, Waleed Hamra) : i.e. it is only a problem
when upgrading.
On the lists, I noted various test failures in falkon, but now that I have
manually retried that, without the sed needed for 5.11 all tests passed:
