Comment (by renodr):
Here's a status update:
- So far, the following packages need to be added:
* tracker-miners
* -POSSIBLE- libgxps (for tracker-miners, allows XPS support in Evince and
ImageMagick)
* gsound
* pipewire
* rtkit (for pipewire)
- Caribou will most likely be archived, if gnome-shell functions without
it. There has been no upstream activity, and upstream is talking about
archiving the git repository in the next release. It also has serious
problems with Python3.
- If no upstream updates are available for gnome-nettool, it will likely
be archived. Half of the commands called by it have changed options.
- Icons (adwaita, gnome-themes-standard, gnome-icon-theme-*) version
entities will be moved out of gnome.net into packages.ent, to be
consistent with the organization of the book.
- gnome-maps and gnome-weather will become available to SysV systems.
- The order for GNOME in systemd may be shifted slightly.
- Old gnome-minor-* entities in gnome.ent will be removed if not used
anymore.
So far, gnome-online-accounts, gnome-keyring, gcr, gnome-video-effects,
and several of the others will not get 3.32 releases unless an urgent
problem is developed. GConf is only here for legacy applications and is
unmaintained upstream, with official recommendations stating that a move
to DConf needs to be done.
