After this was archived from gdk-pixbuf we used a git snapshot. Looking at
something else I noticed that there was a first, and final, release last
year: [ https://gitlab.gnome.org/Archive/gdk-pixbuf-
xlib/-/releases/2.40.2]
'Distribution archive' link there gives a tar.xz. That is marginally
bigger than our snapshot but the only source difference is in meson.build:
