Hi all,

Visiting the XviD website I discovered that the maintainer has quit
the project. There may be others that pick up the project and run
with it, only time will tell.

However, his latest (and last) release is 1.1.0-beta2. It's claimed
to be very close API/ABI wise to the 1.0.x versions, and 1.0.x
application clients should be able to use the 1.1.0 library.

BLFS is currently at 1.0.2 and the 1.0.3 version (latest before the
1.1.x branch) is unavailable (at least I can't download it from the
XviD website).

Looking for direction from the group as to how to proceed. 1.0.3 was
a bugfix release, and many, many bugs fixed in the 1.1.x branch.
