Seems to me that they are 'Optional Dependencies' then.  We had a
terminalogy issue - you were using 'dependency' to mean something other
than: 'it depends on', more: 'it will use if available'.  If that's what
'Optional Dependency' means, fine.  In your first mailing on this you
used 'Dependency', to which I assign the first definition.

As an OpenBox user, I find all this deep linkage with gnome and kde
rather irrelevant - I also think it's bad for applications, especially
as the gnome and kde people keep changing the APIs, but then that's
religion for you.  The only reason I ever build the desktops is to help
wean a Windows user off their evil habit... :-)
