Hello,
at the bottom of the mplayer page there are some suggestions for how to use mencoder to rip DVD's. The commands use the old syntax -dvd 1
mencoder hasn't used that style for a while. It should be dvd://1 or whatever track number you want to rip. Anyone using those commands will need to figure out loads of other stuff for themselves so it's no big deal, but it should be fixed.
