I would like to remove this package from BLFS (...)
It is a dead project. No new stable release in over 4 years.
Googling for the Openquicktime package (looking for a GCC4 patch)

Yeah, although I'm pretty new to (B)LFS, I think this is a good move. A
few days ago I was compiling multimedia and built almost all mm
codecs/packages, trying out gstreamer-0.9 (among other things) - still
can't recall anything requiring / referencing OQT. Out of curiosity I
googled quite a bit on openquicktime, and as you said I only encountered
ages-old websites & BLFS.
