Thanks for pointing this out. Fixed in r5122. > The comment at the introduction is good, but maybe some more things can be > said about the reason why dbus is needed. No sense re-writing what already exists. > Futher, the dbus-viewer does not work. However, as Jürg pointed out, and I discovered last night, each user must start his session daemon first. Along with the methods mentioned by Jürg, I found the following works great for GNOME if you use startx to start GNOME. Change the startup line in .xinitrc to: exec dbus-launch gnome-session I'll be added the various methods to start the session daemon to the instructions. Thanks for taking the time to report your findings. -- Randy rmlscsi: [GNU ld version 2.15.94.0.2 20041220] [gcc (GCC) 3.4.3] [GNU C Library stable release version 2.3.4] [Linux 2.6.10 i686] 07:47:00 up 2 days, 16:11, 3 users, load average: 0.04, 0.06, 0.15 -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
