There is a gtk2 fork of xmms, beep media player. Just make the
following symlinks for compatibility:
   ln -sf beep-config /usr/bin/xmms-config
   ln -sf libbeep.so /usr/lib/libxmms.so

Though gnome1 is useful for gnucash, it is not yet ported to gnome2.
Perhaps gnucash should be made into an hint instead of keeping it in
the book?
