Apparently I am mistaken. Though it worked in testing, removing the source tree and starting over gets me errors in Shadow's make complaining that "cannot find library 'lib/libpam.la'". This was using #2. I'll just reinstall PAM using those extra switches and manually move the libs that need to be in /lib. > Is this something that should be addressed upstream? I don't believe.
