The instructions in the book for 1.0.7 will have to be changed for
1.5. There are a lot of unnecessary targets being added to configure
which are now defaults from configure with
--enable-application=browser.

A couple days ago, there was a thread about OOo2 and LDAP, so take a
look at my answer to Jeremy Monnet about building Firefox:

http://linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/blfs-support/2005-December/057755.html

But if you want to see the differences for stock firefox options, take
a look at the file browser/config/mozconfig in both source trees.
Those are the defaults.

I think it would be a worthwhile talk about changing the BLFS
instructions for firefox and thunderbird to be closer to what the
developers suggest. But I don't have time for such a discussion right
now. I've gotta go see the Nutcracker tonight with my girlfriend.
Does it dent my manhood to admit that publicly?
