No, but it does mean that we will continue to use system libraries like
jpeg, zlib, and png. That was what the discussion was about.
Besides, the config options are not bizarre. They are the same ones
used by the Mozilla method. Also, Randy did give you a good reason.
But the reasons the configure switches are used are not in the book. If it really is
"Your distro, your rules" then the book should give enough information about
the configure switches for people to make an informed decision. If you don't know what a
particular configure switch does, don't use it.
