As an English speaker using a standard charset, these issues almost never affect me, but I think they can't be ignored. The sooner there's some text in the BLFS book, the sooner there will be feedback about these issues. Alexander, you seem to have a really strong grasp on the locale issues and you always do great technical work. I think any contribution you make to the BLFS book in this area will be positive.
