Hi all,

First off I'd like to make a public apology to Alexander for wasting
his time with yesterday's conversation. And I apologize to anyone else
who ended up reading that thread where I was absolutely *wrong*. In the
worst way.

Alexander gave me the biggest clue telling me to use 'cat /proc/mounts'
to see exactly which options were being used during the mount procedure.
I had been using 'cat /etc/mtab', which I've always thought was the
same as 'cat /proc/mounts', but there are subtle differences.

So, I didn't think I could tell which NLS options were being applied
when I was mounting a floppy. So it occurred to me to use a different
option, one that I *could* test. And then, the test I was doing was
flawed yielding inaccurate results.

So, I get home this evening and do some tests, this time as Alexander
recommended and I don't get desired results. So, back to Alexander's
original plan of having brokenness for either DOS volumes or for
ext2 volumes.

Again, sorry folks for wasting everyone's time.
