Yeah, that's understandable. And I can't verify that OpenSC will work if it's moved. However, Fedora and Gentoo both pass --datadir=/usr/share/openssh and don't seem to do anything to inform OpenSC that it has moved. In fact, I don't think that OpenSC uses Ssh.bin, but again I can't confirm. According to README.smartcard, sectok needs to be passed the path to Ssh.bin. OpenSC doesn't seem to use it, though. That's the best I can do without actual testing.
