Just my opinion. :)
Yes, I tend to agree, however it appears others don't. See a recent thread started by Tushar where he (rightly so) pointed out that Heimdal can use GDBM instead of BDB. So, I made some modifications to some of the packages to identify that GDBM can be used instead of BDB. And, in light of the recent posts from several (including you, Chris) folks that say they wish UTF-8 was optional for the LFS book, and may not use BDB/Man-db, I can't help but feel that erroneously listing GDB as optional would be a disservice to those folks. We can continue to discuss this. Perhaps more will become involved in the discussion. -- Randy rmlscsi: [GNU ld version 2.15.94.0.2 20041220] [gcc (GCC) 3.4.3] [GNU C Library stable release version 2.3.4] [Linux 2.6.10 i686] 08:34:00 up 119 days, 17:58, 3 users, load average: 0.26, 0.56, 0.77 -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
