Wow... Randy, the only purpose of my nitpicking is to maybe be helpful.
And that's what it is, just nitpicking.

OK.

In the Gimp page, Gimp-print is recommended, but it is not an essential
package. I would argue it's on the same level as GnuPG for thunderbird.
I don't believe not having it should preclude support on the lists.
Also, there's a very helpful box warning you about the configure options
you'll need if you don't have all the 'recommendations'. Not all
packages have this.

Again, wow. I wish I knew why I deserve such a response...

I'm not dwelling on anything... it was an example picked at random.

I provided insight on the gtk2+jpeg issue, and it resulted in a helpful
warning box added to the book.

Maybe I should have brought the GnuPG thing to the list's attention.
It's just nitpicking, though, and missing it doesn't break the package's
build system.

If I had a magic wand, I'd break 'recommended' into three parts:

- things you can disable, but you most probably don't want to
- things you can disable if you don't need/want some extra functionality
- things the BLFS editors install (their personal recommendation).

Neither me nor the BLFS editors have one, so I'll just STFU.
