Yeah, all of the above should be pretty easy, but none were handled by the current plans. Looks like 1463's patch needs a retooling. Alexander, have you by chance handled these map errors for the live CD's Xorg build? Well...never mind on that one as you just closed the bug. Although I _feel_ that patching X to behave instead of working around it would be better if possible.

On the LFS-6.2-pre2 LiveCD and earlier, I patched Xorg from bug 1463, because of the rule-based locale configurator. On 6.2-pre3, this is not necessary (and in fact wasn't necessary on 6.2-pre2), since the new table-driven locale configurator chooses locale names compatible with Xorg. And they are shorter than those suggested by LFS-6.1.1.

LFS-6.1.1 suggests [EMAIL PROTECTED] LFS-6.2 says that [EMAIL PROTECTED] may (or may not) work better with Xorg and will work equivalently with other apps if "locale charmap" prints the same in both variants.

Also, significant portion of the fixes was merged into Xorg-7.0.0. E.g., [EMAIL PROTECTED] is no longer rejected.

There is one more important fix for Xorg-6.8.2, BTW: luit race patch. It is present on CDs up to and including 6.2-pre2. It is not on the 6.2-pre3 CD, because of new Xorg, and due to the fact that luit is no longer installed.
