Libgtop instructions - infodir

Why is the "--infodir" parameter used? Nowhere else in the GNOME 
instructions (and only 2 other places in BLFS) has a switch to specify 
where to put the man or info pages. Is there any reason to have it here 
but almost nowhere else in the book?
