Your results do not match mine from 4 different lfs-svn boxes of varying age (mid-November up to the latest). If you aren't running a *very* recent lfs, at least post-alpha/post-udev_update merge, your results may differ as I stopped running test builds after I found one that worked consistently on current svn. What is your host and how might you have deviated from the book? Also, there is no reason to run the second pass of tests if the first failed. And I don't think it would be appropriate to disregard test failures since it has been proven to pass. These are live tests of mysqld as it is running.
