I'm not the guy that usually builds and updates KDE, but this seems
like a good idea.  I doubt anyone here knows enough about how KDE uses
memory allocation to know whether it's safe to use that switch.  And
if that's a known issue with gslice, then it should be fixed.

Bruce, Randy?  I think you guys normally build KDE.  What do you think
about dropping the fast-malloc setting and using the default?
