I've just done some more testing and the libtasn1 bundled with gnutls works fine for me now. Maybe it has changed or maybe it was an error on my part before. But it's working now so I'll remove libtasn1 from the gaim page.
But again, the reason for the post in the first place was that the layout of the gnutls dep was inconsistent with other parts of the book. With someone not knowing what gnutls consisted of they could easily think that it was a dep for gaim independent of the other 3 packages because they aren't parenthesized.
I see what you mean, in the Optional Dependencies section, yes, that should be changed. I see what you mean. I'll fix it.
