I was under the impression that a new tarball (differently named) was
released, but apparantely it got replaced, oh well.

  Anyway, even though teTeX works just fine, it appears that it won't be
maintained anymore:

I somewhat started to look into alternatives, but, well... time is
sparse. For the moment I don't see any problems, but in the long run,
teTeX probably has to be replaced by another TeX-distribution.
