Here our errors diverge.  What I am experiencing is that for some 
reason, my linker is not finding libjli.so.  This is only happening 
when in a chroot.  If I boot straight into the system, there is no 
problem.  I am not getting any class exceptions.

With the original post just saying configure was failing, I thought we 
might be having the same problem.  Now I know that is not the case.
