I think it's rather one dimensional to expect someone to stick completely to the letter of the book. I'm not here asking for support and I'm not here saying it's anything but my responsibility. However, I think it is in the nature of the BLFS book to try to cover as many situations as possible, while LFS may be a set of instructions to get a basic system BLFS is about customisation of that system.
