This is mostly for the devs: As you update packages that come from the gnome repo, there is typically a major version in the directory string. It has been my experience that once a package catches up to the actual Gnome version in this major string, you can use the entity (&gnome-version;) instead of the hard-coded 2.26 or whatever it is.
That makes it easier going forward with new versions of the package as once it catches up, like I said, they usually then stay with the Gnome major version.
