Sadly, none of those dates have been made. XI2 is rapidly undergoing
changes, but is on the horizon and could get into a major release
soon. XKB2 on the other hand is nowhere to be seen, and I'm guessing
Daniel will have to scrap those plans unless there is a major
acceleration.

Guy is probably right that xorg-server-1.6.x and newer driver releases
have been much more stable and solid than what's in xorg-7.4.
Especially if you have an intel chipset, the recent combination of

xorg-server-1.6.2
linux-2.6.30
xf86-video-intel-2.8.0
mesa-7.5

is said to be a major improvement. So, xorg-7.5 should hopefully come
this fall, but in the meantime it could be a struggle to find a stable
X.
