Here was an updated release plan the release manager put out in May. http://lists.x.org/archives/xorg-devel/2009-May/000993.html Sadly, none of those dates have been made. XI2 is rapidly undergoing changes, but is on the horizon and could get into a major release soon. XKB2 on the other hand is nowhere to be seen, and I'm guessing Daniel will have to scrap those plans unless there is a major acceleration. Guy is probably right that xorg-server-1.6.x and newer driver releases have been much more stable and solid than what's in xorg-7.4. Especially if you have an intel chipset, the recent combination of xorg-server-1.6.2 linux-2.6.30 xf86-video-intel-2.8.0 mesa-7.5 is said to be a major improvement. So, xorg-7.5 should hopefully come this fall, but in the meantime it could be a struggle to find a stable X. -- Dan -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
