So it was that phone call, that got me loose my concentration for a second (after a day of typing, (re)searching and fixing old scripts, to be able to build a new system for 2010), and I thought (very wrong thought indeed), I was one level up to the directory tree ... and without too much thought, I issued a innocent "rm -rf *". As a result I lost in a flash of time a whole day job. Luckily enough the partition was small, so after a dd of=/dev/sda3 | strings > recovered and a lot of grep'ping and vim magic, It was possible (after a couple of hours) to recover all the data. So, just stop what you are doing, drink something, take a deep breath or even better make love to your partner, but just don't panic, when it happens. After all, everything is an endless series of 1 or 0. I just stopped by to say a hello to all the community of LFS.
