Moved to BLFS-Dev... BLFS hopefully will move to 7.6-1 this weekend (time permitting). I've tested on both x86 and x86_64 and it seems to be solid on my hardware. I've done both /opt/X11 and /usr installations on x86, but only /usr on x86_64 (the /opt/X11 prefix will require a lib64 -> lib symlink). While I've done a complete U-turn on my intentions, I also plan to suggest that we do only system installations in the book for everything after this release, and move instructions to the wiki if we choose to support packages installed elsewhere (the maintenance burden of Trinity and Gnome using /opt is far too much to handle reliably (and later KDE4?)). I plan to add a warning box in the book for this release mentioning the $XORG_PREFIX/lib64 -> lib symlink. Mesa Demos will be gone from the book and the Configuring Xorg will be one page. Old fonts will remain as they are still listed as part of the Xorg distribution. -- DJ Lucas -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content, and is believed to be clean. -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
