and Andy's response.  Yes, it's for sulogin.  Looking at ldd, on
this 7.0 system (my other box) it appears to be using the shared
lib.  I can only say that it failed when I renamed libcrypt.a

 'lib>g<crypt' was because my memory isn't what it used to be.
