I would like to add the wicd package to BLFS.

For those of you who do not know it, it is a network connection manager,
similar to NetworkManager but not as featurerich, and written in python.

It can manage wired and wireless connections seamlessly.

Although I could get NetworkManager to build on my system using the BLFS
instructions,
I couldn't get it to create any network connections. Wicd, on the other hand,
works perfectly on LFS and integrates beautifully with my KDE4. It also has a
GTK/gnome
interface.

Has anyone got NetworkManager to function on LFS?

Wicd uses wpa-supplicant, wireless-tools, dhcpcd/dhclient and ifconfig/mii-tool
(from the net-tools package).
