Glad to hear that somebody is still using and testing against the proprietary JDK. I had actually planned to remove it with IcedTea 2.1, is this not desired? If not, is there any interest in bringing back the JRL code? There are restrictions to OpenJDK license that require a "reasonable time" between working on the proprietary JDK and OpenJDK, even though they share most of the codebase now (plugin and webstart are still closed). Also of note, distros have moved to installing their OpenJDK (IcedTea) into /usr. It is still separated and placed into a distribution directory in /usr/lib/jvm/openjdk-$VERSION-java-$DISTROVERSION/ with application, icons, documentation, and man pages placed into their respective locations in /usr/share. I see no need for it to continue to be placed in /opt (which is actually troublesome for the shared components), but figured I'd ask if anybody had strong feelings before I move it into a system location.
