I know about everything what you said, I had broken installation with the blfs instructions several times. But I want to do it for the sake of the others (which don't use gnome but prefer that's seperated). Or I'll leave it as it's now if others agree. This is the gnome from upstream divided into 2 categories: http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/gnome/core/3.4/3.4.1/sources/ http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/gnome/apps/3.4/3.4.1/sources/ I can sort it like that, but make 3 subsections like platform, desktop and applications for core and platform and applications for apps one. If others agree I'll just continue my work as it is right now, and someone else who can test a sucessfull working build with GNOME_SYSCONFDIR!=/etc and GNOME_PREFIX!=/usr can correct everything if necesary. As for the libexec dir, I'll leave it for now.
